It's not uncommon for a lot of users to use weak passwords since they are easier to remember or to use scripts, templates and plugins that are not updated for a long period of time. It limits the access that a script has solely to its own folder, so in case one of your websites is compromised, the attacker will see its content, but won't be able to see any other content in your account, which means that the damage will be minimal. Of course, using JailHost will not replace the safety measures you should take by keeping your scripts up-to-date and using long and complex passwords, yet it will allow you to restrict any damage to one site only.

JailHost in Shared Hosting

You can take full advantage of JailHost with every single shared hosting plan that we provide and protect your sites against attacks quick and easy. Each domain and subdomain in the Hepsia Control Panel which comes with our packages has a separate folder and contrary to what often happens with many other Control Panels, the content is not mixed up in just a single main folder, so keeping your Internet sites separate is rather easy. Allowing JailHost for any site takes only a couple of clicks, so even if you don't have much experience, you will not need any special skills to be able to keep your websites secure. The option is not active by default in case that you'd like to use a script that needs access to a different folder inside your account. In case you use JailHost, the other sites that you have will be secured, but even a hacked one will not remain damaged for too long as we'll have several daily backup copies for it at all times, so that we can quickly restore it.

JailHost in Semi-dedicated Hosting

JailHost is provided with all of our semi-dedicated hosting packages, so in case you host multiple websites, you'll be able to separate them from each other so as to keep them safe. This option must be activated for each website and is not turned on by default, to avoid interference with scripts that need access to multiple folders inside the account. Enabling it for all other domains will take no more than several clicks inside the Hepsia hosting Control Panel. Unlike other Control Panels, Hepsia doesn't place multiple sites under the main domain folder. Instead, every single domain or subdomain has its very own folder, which makes it much easier to maintain and protect all of your Internet sites. In case that a site in your account is hacked, not only will your other websites remain untouched, but we will also be able to recover the affected website in no time since we will have multiple backup copies of your content.
